Senior Lawyer and Principal
Chris has been a practising lawyer for over 29 years and a financial adviser for over 25 years. He is a specialist accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria, a Certified Financial Adviser and an Accredited Self-Managed Super Fund Specialist Adviser by the SMSF Association, the pinnacle body in Australia for self-managed super fund professionals. Chris is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Financial Planning Association of Australia and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning. He is also a former member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). Chris practices exclusively in the areas of estate planning, self-managed super fund structuring and advice, asset structuring, business succession planning and more recently aged care advice. His experience as both a lawyer and financial adviser provides unique insight and the ability to adopt a strategic approach in delivering legal solutions to his clients.
Chris holds regular speaking engagements, educational workshops and guest radio spots, presenting on a wide range of both legal and financial topics, both in Australia and the United States.
Chris is the managing director of Hill Legal and Life Solutions Financial Advisers which both focus on providing holistic tailored legal and financial solutions to clients at different stages of their lives. He is also the managing director of Hollenstein Hill Australia Consulting, a business that is involved in providing consulting services to Australians working in the United States.
Chris holds other non-professional associations and sits on the board of various charitable and philanthropic organisations.
He is an avid adventurer and has climbed mountain peaks in Nepal and New Zealand and enjoys offshore racing, sailing and bike riding.
Linda joined Hill Legal as a commercial lawyer in 2009, having previously practised at a commercial law firm in Melbourne as well as at a large regional firm in the Western Districts of Victoria.
Linda works with Chris Hill in our SMSF advice practice and also within our conveyancing team advising on property law issues.
Linda graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2004 and also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Insurance. Prior to joining the legal profession, Linda spent a number of years in the banking and finance industry.
Outside of work, Linda is kept busy by her family, especially by her three children and her new dog Fritz.

Ryan entered the legal profession with Hill Legal in 2014 and has worked with a focus on commercial matters, including property & leasing disputes, the sale and purchase of businesses and other assets, personal and commercial insolvency, as well as drafting a broad range of commercial agreements.
Ryan has a strong interest in advocacy and has appeared in commercial litigations before the Supreme Court, County Court, Magistrates Court, VCAT and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
Ryan graduated from RMIT with a Juris Doctor in 2013 and also holds a Diploma of Education (University of Melbourne) and Bachelor of Arts (Monash). Prior to entering the legal profession, Ryan worked as a teacher, both on the Mornington Peninsula and abroad, and he enjoys the challenge of understanding and explaining complex ideas, which is common to both professions.
Out of the office, Ryan is a fan of most sports, particularly football, soccer and golf, while he also enjoys reading, music and travelling.

Maxine graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Laws and completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Leo Cussen Centre for Law in 2018. Maxine also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Monash University.
She has previously had experience at a small practice on the Mornington Peninsula, practicing in various areas of the law including estate matters, family law and commercial matters, before joining Hill Legal in 2019.
Maxine currently practices in the area of Wills and Estate Planning and has been involved in this area consistently since her admission to practice.

Cheryl started work in a legal firm in Mount Eliza as a receptionist after completing work experience at the tender age of 16 and while still at school. She has progressed to become a law clerk as a natural progression from her many years of experience and application.
Cheryl has worked in large and small firms on the Mornington Peninsula and has experience in most areas of law including conveyancing, business sales and purchases, family law, leases, wills and estates, court litigation amongst others. She has been a valued assistant to Robert Daniels for more than 10 years.
Cheryl’s interests include AFL football, tennis, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Janet Rosevear joined Hill Legal in 2013 as a Paralegal and Personal Assistant. She brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of legal practice, having begun working in law offices at 17 years old. She has also worked in various Law Office on the Mornington Peninsula.
Currently, Janet works together with Cheryl Hill in respect to conveyancing files from start to finish. Both Cheryl and Janet are certified PEXA Members, as all conveyancing are now settled using the PEXA settlement platform.
Janet also is our Accounts Manager and handles monthly invoicing as well as debtor management. She also assists our bookkeeper with trust account receipting, cheque payments and other incidentals.
Janet keeps all our Lawyers “on their toes” with their CPD points by maintaining a detailed CPD register.
She is the proud mother of her two adult children and three grandchildren and loves spending time with all her family. Her interests are cooking, walking and gardening.
Personal Assistant to Chris Hill and Linda Shepherd
Katrina Millar commenced working in Law in 2015, working as a Receptionist in Mornington. Soon after she obtained a position in Government Administration in Melbourne CBD, where she worked in a high-volume litigation practice and obtained the skills to progress into her current role.
Katrina is the Personal Assistant to Chris Hill and Linda Shepherd, assisting with the preparation of Superannuation Fund documents, the smooth running of Litigation files and Wills and Estate matters.
She is currently undertaking her Advanced Diploma in Conveyancing at RMIT, to advance her knowledge and skills.
In her spare time, she enjoys creating crafts, going on adventures with her dog and spending time with those close to her.
